After months and months of anticipation, the construction on our school’s auditorium has concluded, leaving us to finally marvel at this beautiful building. This has been a Notre Dame project in the works for over 20 years now, and Mr. Alberal, who funded the entire construction, finally brought this vision to life.
Groundbreaking was a Mass and ceremony that was celebrated right next to the grounds where the construction would begin, and after the staff and supporters gathered and used shovels to break ground, the project finally began.
Throughout the 2021-22 school year, students watched as metal framing was stacked up, wooden beams stretching from the ground to the sky, and before we knew it, they were laying bricks down. Day after day, week after week, we would repeatedly be astonished by how fast it was all coming along. And when we would leave for vacations and breaks, the surprise waiting for us when we got back was bigger than we could have expected. It went by so quickly; I still cannot even believe that I will be a member of the first graduating class in the auditorium that has been rumored and talked about for decades.
Now that it is finished, we will no longer have to be uncomfortably crammed into a gym for Mass or student council inductions. Thanks to this amazing addition, Notre Dame’s auditorium will finally supply us with the space to accommodate all our events comfortably.
