Testing/vaccination site changes
Northampton County’s DCED, Emergency Management Services and Lehigh Valley Hospital-Coordinated Health Allentown Hospital (LVH-CHA) announce that the drive-through testing/vaccination site located at Coordinated Health 3100 Emrick Blvd., Bethlehem Township, closed Oct. 14.
Beginning Oct. 17, vaccines and boosters are available by appointment only for those six months and older at the LVH-Hecktown Oaks Hospital Campus, 3780 Hecktown Road, Easton, between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month.
To schedule an appointment, call the hotline, 833-584-6283. The hotline is open Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

County prison COVID update
The Director of Corrections reports that, as of Oct. 10, there is one case of COVID-19 among inmates at Northampton County Prison. There are no positive cases among staff.
Since the start of the pandemic, 480 inmates have tested positive; 479 have finished their quarantine periods or are no longer at NCP.
Since March 2020, NCP has conducted 9,798 tests for COVID-19 on inmates.
There are currently 566 inmates in residence at NCP.

Leaf collection concludes in mid-December
The Public Works Department has announced its 2022 leaf collection schedule. Leaf collections are set to begin Oct. 10 and conclude by mid – December, depending on weather. All township residents are required to abide by the following regulations governing leaf collections:
Leaves are to be recycled through the Township’s collection program. Residents must place their leaves along the edge of the street or curb for the township to collect. It shall be the responsibility of the residents to protect their leaves along the street so that they do not blow throughout the neighborhood. Leaves will not be collected on private property.
Also, collection crews will not rake piles of leaves from between or under parked cars.
Collection crews will not empty plastic bags or containers; this is the responsibility of the resident. Branches, grass clippings, shrubbery, garbage and building material will not be collected. These items will be left behind and are also the responsibility of the resident.
Public comment on stormwater issue ends Nov. 9
NPDES: Bethlehem Township hereby gives notice of the 30-day public comment period for its National Pollutant Discharge Elimination Stormwater Discharges from Small Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems (MS4) Pollutant Reduction Plan. Best management practices are proposed in the plan to satisfy PRP requirements for the NPDES Permit and local stream impairments. The public is invited to review this document and provide written comments to the Township Manager: Doug Bruce, dbruce@bethlehemtwp.com or 4225 Easton Ave., Bethlehem, PA 18020.
