Chris Botti, 7:30 p.m. Oct. 14, State Theatre, Easton. The Portland, Ore., native is a highly-acclaimed trumpet player and composer. His “Impressions” (2012) received a Grammy for Best Pop Instrumental Album. Botti has performed in concert and-or on albums with Sting, Paul Simon, Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand, Tony Bennett, Lady Gaga, Josh Groban, Yo-Yo Ma, Michael Bublé, Andrea Bocelli, among many others. He has sold more than 4 million albums and been featured on PBS telecasts. Since his first album, “When I Fall In Love” (2004), he has released nine studio albums, two live albums and two compilation albums. Vanilla Fudge, 8 p.m. Oct. 15, Mauch Chunk Opera House, Jim Thorpe. Doors open at 7 p.m. The group, originally formed in New Jersey, is credited as “one of the few American links between psychedelic and heavy metal.” The group had its biggest hit with “You Keep Me Hangin’ On,” a remake of the Supremes’ No. 1 hit in 1966, reaching No. 6 in 1967. The band, with vocalist, organist Mark Stein; bassist, vocalist Tim Bogert; lead guitarist, vocalist Vince Martell, and drummer, vocalist Carmine Appice, recorded five albums 1967 - ‘69, before disbanding in 1970. The band is touring with three of the four original members: Stein, Martell and Appice. Pete Bremy is on bass. Bogert, who retired in 2009, died in 2021. KIX, 8 p.m. Oct. 15, Penn’s Peak, Jim Thorpe. Doors open at 7 p.m. The concert is rescheduled from Aug. 26, 2022. Original tickets honored for new date. KIX was founded in 1978 in Hagerstown, Md. The group’s self-titled debut album (1981) includes concert favorites “The Itch,” “Heartache” and “Yeah, Yeah, Yeah.” The second album, “Cool Kids” (1983), yielded “Body Talk,” and the ballad, “For Shame.” The third album, “Midnite Dynamite” (1985), includes, “Cold Shower.” The fourth album, “Blow My Fuse” (1988), had “Cold Blood,” with its video dominating the “Dial MTV” program. A single from the album, “Don’t Close Your Eyes,” peaked at No. 11 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart, propelling the album to platinum status. Other studio albums include “Hot Wire” (1991), “Show Business” (1995) and ”Rock Your Face Off” (2014). KIX released “Can’t Stop The Show: The Return Of KIX” (2016), a DVD-CD set, and “Fuse 30 Reblown” (2018), a 30th anniversary two-disc set.
