Dr. Jerome G. “Jerry” Greene Jr., 83, of Allentown, a native of New Orleans, La., died peacefully Sept. 21, 2022.

He has always had an ear for music and a quest for knowledge.

As a legacy jazz musician, he played countless instruments in bands across the map.

He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Cincinnati, and, as an educator, he cultivated the students of several prestigious higher education institutions.

He loved to share stories and his worldly experiences and will be missed by countless individuals who loved him dearly.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Zelda; children Alyssa and Jerry III; grandchildren Robert, Jay IV, and Camryn; and sisters Betty and Lyndia.

He was predeceased by his parents, Jerome and Irene; sister Ada; and daughter Leslie.
