The Liberty Bell Museum will be hosting the Allentown Band to perform a special concert, titled “On Broadway,” at the Liberty Bell Church, 622 W. Hamilton St, Allentown, 3 p.m. Oct. 23.

The program will include compositions celebrating the long musical history of Broadway musicals.

For this performance, the Allentown Band will be under the direction of Ronald Demkee.

The Allentown Band has performed in such venues as the prestigious Carnegie Hall and International Music Festival at the Kennedy Center in 2010.

“We are excited to host the Allentown Band for this special performance. It is an annual event that many of our patrons and sponsors look forward to every year,” said Liberty Bell Museum Director Rev. Joshua Knappenberger.

The concert benefits the educational programs of the Liberty Bell Museum, which provides a hands-on educational experience for every third- and seventh-grader in the Allentown School District.

There is a small cost per person to attend. The ticket, available in advance or at the door, also includes admission to the museum on the day of the concert.
