Coplay: Library needs directors; next board meeting set for Oct. 13
Coplay Public Library is seeking a library director to work 32 hours a week, as well as an assistant library director.

Coplay Saengerbund’s heritage committee is planning to hold a Weinlesefest (grape dance) event 3-6 p.m. Oct. 16 at the club, 205 S. Fifth St. It is a celebration of the grape harvest and the making of new wine.
Music will be provided by the Emil Schanta Band.
There is an admission fee.

The Coplay Halloween parade is set for 7 p.m. Oct. 18.
Coplay’s trick-or-treat night is 6-8 p.m. Oct. 28.

The Saengerbund will be holding a fundraiser 6-10 p.m. Oct. 22 to benefit a Whitehall High School student battling cancer. Doors open 5 p.m.
The event is open to the public.
Dirty Roxx will perform.

Coplay Garden Club next meets 7 p.m. Oct. 27 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 18 S. Third St. The meeting will feature a Halloween party, so dress up in your favorite costume.

A note from Coplay Borough Public Works Department: Brush pickup for 2022 ended Sept. 30, and leaves will be picked up Oct. 1-Dec. 30.
Grass will no longer be collected. There is a drop-off location at 1 Bridge St. Hours are 7:30 a.m.-3 p.m.

The Coplay Scholarship Fund Committee’s 2022 scholarship program is accepting applications for two $500 scholarships for high school seniors residing in Coplay who plan to attend a college, university, technical school or the police academy.
