Lehigh Art Alliance (LAA) President Elena Shackleton honored eight artists whose work was selected by jurors Amy Forsyth and Suzanne Fellows for awards at the “Lehigh Art Alliance 87th Annual Fall Juried Exhibition.”

The awards reception was held Sept. 15 at the exhibition, which concluded Sept. 22, David E. Rodale and Rodale Family Galleries, The Baum School of Art, Allentown. There were 59 works by 42 members of the LAA in the exhibit.

Paintings, drawings, pastels, assemblages, three-dimensional and mixed media works are featured in LAA juried shows.

Shackleton announced that photography will be included in upcoming exhibits.

The awards, named for the first six presidents of LAA:

• $500 Garth Howland Award: Drew Tilton, watercolor, “Cat with Dog”

• $300 Walter Mattern Award: Arlene B. Ginsburg, watercolor, “Merging”

• $200 Rollin Wolf Award: Jack Dickerson, oil, “Montmartre Street Scene, Paris”

• $150 Harry V. Beidleman Award: Sandra Corpora, oil, “The Runner”

• $100 Anna Riley Award: Shawn Campbell, clay and wood sculpture, “Magpie”

• $50 Paul Wieand Award: Nancy Bossert, mixed-media portrait, “My Light”

Honorable mentions:

• Georgio C-Kyriakos, acrylic, “When She Showers”

• Jacqueline Meyerson, pastel, “Can Can”

The Lehigh Art Alliance, founded in 1935 by Professor Garth Howland of Lehigh University, is an organization for amateur and professional artists in the Lehigh Valley area.
