Upper Macungie is offering its annual Barktoberfest 11 a.m.-3 p.m. on Oct. 8 at Grange Park, 360 Grange Road.

At this free event, pets and owners can dress up in Halloween costumes, check out pet-friendly vendors, and enter to win prizes in the pet parade.

Pet parade registration at the welcome table will take place from 11 a.m. to noon.

Pet parade line up and parade immediately follows.

There will be demonstrations, if available, at 12:30 p.m.

Pet parade prize winners will be announced after demonstrations are finished.

There will be a DJ playing family-friendly music and activities and giveaways by vendors.

St. John’s Lutheran Church, 1028 Church St., Fogelsville, will have a basket social on Oct. 7 and 8.

Preview night will be 6-8 p.m. Oct. 7. The social is 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Oct. 8.

Stop by for your chance to win one of 60 plus gift cards and 65 plus themed gift baskets.

Takeout food items will be available to purchase on Saturday.

Winners will be drawn at the end of the event and contacted by phone.

Choose either ham or Italian with or without onions.

Ziegels Union Church, 9990 Ziegels Church Road, Breinigsville, will have its annual Trunk or Treat 6-7:30 p.m. Oct. 29 in the church parking lot.

Dress up in costume, and bring your friends and family, for a fun and safe night of trick or treating.

There will be food, games, pumpkin decorating, and prizes for the best decorated trunks.

All youth are invited to participate.
