EHS celebrates Homecoming Week with tailgate, football game and dance

The Emmaus High School Debate Team will meet Oct. 6 after school in Room 518. The agenda includes preparing treat bags and making banners for the upcoming Homecoming tailgate.
The Class of 2023 will host its senior breakfast Oct. 7 during Block 1. At the beginning of the period, students should report to their Block 1 class for attendance purposes, then enter Cafeteria #1 for breakfast. This event is for seniors with pre-purchased tickets only.
Kicking off Homecomecoming events, the Homecoming tailgate will be held 3:30-5:30 p.m. Oct. 7 in the outdoor basketball courts, followed by the Homecoming football game 7 p.m. in the East Penn School District Stadium.
In addition, the Homecoming Dance will take place 6-9 p.m. Oct. 8 in the EPSD Stadium. Students must bring ID cards to the event. No heels are permitted on the turf. To attend, fill out the form, then purchase tickets during any lunch period outside the cafeteria doors.
Students accepted to National Honor Society have now been notified through school email. The induction ceremony will be held 6:30 p.m. Oct. 13 in the EHS auditorium. All accepted candidates are expected to attend and each is permitted two guests. For more information, visit the NHS Schoology group.
Interact Club will meet after school Oct. 13 in Room 524, hosting icebreaker activities and a prize raffle. Note: students may not attend any Interact Club events until they have submitted permission slips and dues to Mrs. Kaunitz.
The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test will be administered Oct. 15. On this date, students should arrive at EHS by 7:30 a.m. Lists will be posted outside Doors #3, #4 and #5 with student names and room assignments. After entering the building, students are to report directly to their assigned testing location. In addition, students should bring their own #2 pencils and calculators.
A reminder to Interact Club and Key Club members: the joint Halloween Treat Bag event will be held 2:30-3:00 p.m. Oct. 20 in Cafeteria #1. This event is for preregistered students only. For questions, contact akaunitz@eastpennsd.org.
Preparing its October issue, The Stinger will hold preproduction after school Oct. 11-13 in Room 559, with all final drafts due Oct. 14. Production will be held after school Oct. 17-20. To access the budget and other resources, view The Stinger’s shared Google Drive.
