Oct. 12

The Vera Cruz Halloween Parade will start 7 p.m. Organizers ask parade participants arrive by 6:30 p.m. The rain date is Oct. 13.

Oct. 15

Fall bazaar at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 135 Quarry Road, Alburtis 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Event includes crafts, attic treasures, basket auction, bake sale, quilt raffle and food.

Wine tasting and silent auction to benefit the Southern Lehigh Public Library 7-9 p.m. at the library, 3200 Preston Lane, Center Valley. Tickets available at solehipl.org.

Rocktoberfest at Hills of Lockridge, 7100 Scenic View Drive, Macungie, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Event, presented by the East Penn Chamber, includes rock music, family entertainment, food trucks and more. Visit web.lehighvalleychamber.org/events for more information.

Boo Avenue Drive-Thru in Lower Macungie 9-11 a.m. for children ages 3-10. This is a free trick-or-treat event; participants are asked to reserve a spot online to ensure there are enough treats. Open to residents and non-residents. Register at lowermac.com.

Oct. 19

The Emmaus Historical Society will present a program 7 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church Parish Hall. Fifth and Chestnut streets, Emmaus. The program titled, “Funeral Homes of Emmaus,” will be presented by Andrew Kerstetter and highlights the history of the three Emmaus funeral home establishments that have served the families of the community since 1864. This engaging program will include photos and a few anecdotes about the owners. All are welcome to attend this free event. Refreshments served immediately following the program.

Oct. 27

The Woman’s Club of Emmaus will host its Fall Card Party 1 p.m. in the meeting hall of St. John’s Lutheran Church, 501 Chestnut St., Emmaus. This is a fundraising event to support the club’s scholarship program. There is a cost per person to play. Invite friends and make a table of four to play whatever game you choose. Reservations can be made by calling Sandy at 610-395-6434 no later than Oct. 20.

The Upper Milford Historical Society meeting will feature speaker Mike Jesberger and his lecture titled “The True Story of the Legend of Sleepy Hollow.” The program will investigate the real events behind the tale of Ichabod Crane and the headless horseman, a story based on actual incidents in the Hudson Valley in New York. The meeting program begins 7 p.m. at the Upper Milford Township municipal building, 5671 Chestnut St., Old Zionsville.
