Enjoy autumn fun with local activities

Welcome to fall!

Not only does this season bring us cooler weather, colorful leaves and shorter days, but we also get to look forward to fun autumn-themed events. The harvest and Halloween season is ripe with festive goings-on around the Lehigh Valley.

Here are some of the local fall events in the area.

• Seiple Farms, 5761 Nor-Bath Blvd., Bath, is dedicating Friday nights to its Corn Maze for a Cause program, sponsoring Freedom First Rescue. The events are set for 6-9 p.m. Oct. 7, 14 and 21, weather permitting. There is musical entertainment, farm animals, amusement rides, food trucks and more.

• The Whitehall Township Haunted Hayrides in the Parkway continue 7-11 p.m. Oct. 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, 22, 28 and 29 at Whitehall Parkway, 4689 S. Church St. There is a cost, which benefits Whitehall Fire Department. Refreshments and free parking are available. For more information, call the recreation bureau at 610-437-5524, ext. 1165.

• The Best of North Catasauqua Autumnfest and Car Show is set for 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Oct. 9, with an Oct. 15 rain date, at North Catasauqua William J. Albert Memorial Park, 701 Grove St. In addition to the car show, there will be food, live music and a craft and flea market.

• Moore Township Historical Commission is planning to hold an Oktoberfest event 5:30-8:30 p.m. Oct. 13 in the fellowship hall at Holy Cross Evangelical Lutheran Church, 696 Johnson Road, Moorestown. Doors open 4:30 p.m. There will be a basket and gift card raffle and a 50/50 drawing.

• The Haunted Bath House at Catasauqua Park and Playground is set for 6 p.m. Oct. 21, 22, 28 and 29 at the park, 501 American St.

• Ironton Rail Trail is holding a fall historical walk Oct. 22, beginning 9 a.m., at the Whitehall Parkway barn on Chestnut Street. The leisurely walk is approximately 7 miles and is expected to take about four hours, with occasional stops to view historic sites, buildings and landmarks. The event is free, and registration is not required. For more information, contact rail.trail@yahoo.com.

• Moore Township Community Days committee will hold a Halloween trunk or treat 5 p.m. Oct. 22 at the recreation complex, 635 English Road, Bath.

• The fifth annual Witches Day Out vendor and craft show is set for 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Oct. 23 at Tri-Boro Sportsmen Club, 2110 Canal St., Northampton.

• Catasauqua Police Department is hosting a trunk or treat 6-8 p.m. Oct. 26, with a rain date of Oct. 27. It will be in the rear lot of the borough complex, 90 Bridge St. There is a registration fee per vehicle, which will benefit the school resource officer fund. • George Taylor House is holding its Harvest and Haunts festival 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Oct. 29 at the historic home, Lehigh and Poplar streets, Catasauqua.

• Bath Borough is hosting a Treats with a Trooper event 6-8 p.m. Oct. 31 outside borough hall, 121 S. Walnut St., Bath, featuring members of the Pennsylvania State Police and Mayor Fiorella Reginelli-Mirabito.

Make sure you support your local organizations and other groups during the annual fall/Halloween parades, which are listed below.

• Whitehall: 7 p.m. Oct. 13. The parade will travel down Schadt Avenue to Campus Drive and will weave through the school district campus. It will end with the annual bonfire near the football stadium with music by Crippled Moonshine and food trucks at the Schadt Avenue Playground parking lot.

• Coplay Borough: 7 p.m. Oct. 18

• Bath Borough: 7 p.m. Oct. 18 (rain date Oct. 25)

• Catasauqua/North Catasauqua boroughs: 7 p.m. Oct. 19 (rain date Oct. 26)

• Northampton Jack Frost Parade: 7 p.m. Oct. 20 (rain date Oct. 27)

Get your youngsters all dressed up and ready for some goodies during Halloween trick-or-treat nights in your area.

• Coplay Borough: 6-8 p.m. Oct. 28 (rain date Oct. 29)

• East Allen Township: 6-8 p.m. Oct. 28 (rain date Oct. 29)

• Hanover Township, Lehigh County: 6-8 p.m. Oct. 28

• Lehigh Township: 6-8 p.m. Oct. 28

• Whitehall Township: 6-8 p.m. Oct. 28 (rain date Oct. 29)

• Catasauqua Borough: 6-8 p.m. Oct. 29 (rain date Oct. 30)

• North Catasauqua Borough: 6-8 p.m. Oct. 29 (rain date Oct. 30)

• Allen Township: 6-8 p.m. Oct. 31 (rain date Nov. 1)

• Bath Borough: 6-8 p.m. Oct. 31. Stop by the borough hall, 121 S. Walnut St., to trick or treat with Pennsylvania State Police.
