Cross country teams split, tennis gets win
The boys and girls cross country teams ran against Parkland and Allen on Tuesday Sept. 20. It was a 1-1 day for both teams with wins against Allen.
The boys were led by a top five of Abel Veltri, Ryder Ault, Breaden Lower, Bryson Grover, and Avery Martinez.
“We also had several personal best times with Joey Graffin, Caden Dempsey, Steve Bastow, and Mephiboseth Martinez,” head coach Dan Benner said.
The girls were led by Liv Jusinski, Olivia Horn, Rachel Makary, Nicole Yellen, and Abby Hacker. Also running well with personal records were Nikita Yessen and Joyce Shammas.
“We are just over halfway through our season and I like the effort level at this point,” Benner said, as the teams draw closer to the postseason meets. “If we can keep working hard, we are looking forward to the postseason races.”
The Kids have a busy week next week with a regular season meet against Pocono Mountain East, Pocono Mountain West, and Pleasant on Tuesday, Sept. 27, and an Invitation at Lehigh University (Paul Short) on Friday.
