Robert E. Cherry, 83, of Bath and formerly of Walnutport, died Sept. 11, 2022, at Bush’s Personal Care Home, Kunkletown. He was the husband of the late Sandra (Hildebrand) Cherry.
Born in Danielsville, he was a son of the late Joseph and Mary (Sharkazy) Cherry.
He was a 1956 graduate of Northampton High School.
He was general manager of Bert’s Steakhouse, Palmerton, for 20 years. He owned and operated Sunset Diner, Kresgeville, for 22 years until he retired in 2005. He founded the Super Burger, Kresgeville.
He started the Indian Mountain Senior Golf League. He was a former president and baseball coach with Lehigh Township Athletic Association. He lunched weekly with the Golden Oldies Club, Danielsville.
He is survived by two daughters, Lisa Csencits-Cebrosky and husband Glenn of Moore Township and Michele and husband Duane Frable of Palmerton; a sister, Ann Marie Anthony of Emmaus; a brother, James Cherry and wife Renda of Mesa, Ariz.; seven grandchildren, Trista, Amber, Samantha, Bryan, Robert, Heather and Ryan; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a son, Richard Cherry; and a sister, Frances Lako.
