PSAT registration now open to Emmaus High School students

Interact Club held its first meeting Sept. 15. However, interested students who missed this date may still join by picking up a permission slip outside Room 524. Slips and dues must be returned to Mrs. Kaunitz by Oct. 13.
In addition, Interact Club is collecting metal soda can tabs throughout the school year for the Ronald McDonald House Charities. Place any donations in the bag outside Room 524.
Registration for the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test began Sept. 19 and will continue until test spots sell out. To register, visit the counseling offices at any time between 7:15 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. with $30 cash or check. Make checks payable to Emmaus High School. Tests will be administered on Oct. 15, with more details to come as the date nears.
The counseling offices will hold a postsecondary planning night Sept. 21 in the EHS auditorium, offering college-related resources to both students and their families. The event’s first presentation, relating to financial aid, will begin 6 p.m. The second presentation, relating to Naviance, will begin 7:15 p.m. Families may choose to attend one or both sessions.
Making its final call for new members, the EHS Debate Team will meet after school Sept. 22 in Room 518. The debate season runs now through December. Join the team’s Schoology group with the code NMC7-5C5R-VH2CN and stop by Room 518 with questions.
The next boys varsity football game is scheduled 7 p.m. Sept. 23 against Bethlehem Catholic High School in the Bethlehem Area School District Stadium.
Chess Club will hold its first meeting after school Sept. 27 in the multimedia room. Here, members will compete against each other as practice for competitions within the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference. Any questions may be directed to mzayaitzruhf@eastpennsd.org.
Habitat for Humanity reminds those who purchased World Habitat Day shirts to wear them to the Sept. 30 football game in the East Penn School District Stadium.
The Emmaus Athletic Department is seeking students to wear the school’s Hornet mascot outfit at sporting events. Any interested students should email mjspengler@eastpennsd.org.
The Red Cross Club holds meetings every Wednesday after school in Room 236, with new members always welcome. Join the club’s Schoology group with the following code: HPM7-NZD2-KV675.

After-school transportation is now available to students through the late bus, which departs from Door #4 3:15 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Students must sign up for the bus by 10:30 a.m. in the main office. Transportation is to be used for school-related purposes only: clubs, detention, tutoring or testing.
