Lehigh Valley Yankee Fan Club is hosting two fundraisers to benefit the family of Joey Groller.

Joey Groller is a 16-year-old Whitehall High School student who was recently diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia. He is expected to have a six-month stay at a Lehigh Valley Health Network hospital for treatments. These treatments will put a financial strain on the Groller family, so these fundraisers will help.

There will be a basket social 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Oct. 2 at Gas House Dance Hall, 311 Front St., Catasauqua. Tickets will be sold at the door.

Additionally, a dinner dance is planned for Nov. 5 at the Cementon Park pavilion, 5185 Dewey St., Whitehall. Doors open 5 p.m., and the dinner starts 6 p.m. Presale tickets can be purchased at Konkrete Creamery, 2430 Cherryville Road, Northampton; Palace Pizza, 3690 Lehigh St., Whitehall; and Samuel Owens Restaurant and Bar, 128 Chestnut St., Coplay.
