Charles D. Wink, 67, of Alburtis, died suddenly Sept. 10, 2022. He was the loving husband of Ann (Zeigler) Wink for 30 years. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Charles M. and Joan A. (Ludwig) Wink.
He proudly served in the U.S. Navy as an air crew chief in Helicopter Combat Support Squadron 6.
A gifted carpenter, his favorite job was running his own business, CD Wink General Contracting.
He was an avid fisherman and known for his sense of humor. He had a love for his community, which he showed through his involvement in many organizations throughout his life.
He was a lifetime member of Macungie Fire Company, an active member of the Alburtis Rod & Gun Club and Mahoning Sportsman’s Club and volunteered for many years as the sound guy for the Macungie Minstrelaires.
He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Macungie.
He is survived by his wife; daughters, Nicole Pauline and son-in-law, Steve, of Hillsville, Bri and her partner, George McDonagh, of Cardiff, Wales; grandson, Charles Joe “CJ” Pauline, his namesake; sister, Donna, of Macungie; brother, Thomas, of Rochester, N.Y.; sister, Joanne and her husband Randy Weidner, of Macungie; mother-in-law, Rose Zeigler, of Wescosville; many aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews and cousins to whom he was known as “Snooky.”
He was the best husband, dad, grandpa and friend. “Cry not for me Captain, for where I go is a far, far better place, where the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.”
Memorial contributions may be made in his honor to the Down Syndrome Center of Western Pennsylvania, 4401 Penn Ave., Pittsburgh, 15224.
Services are private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements were made by the Carl F. Schmoyer Funeral Home, Breinigsville.
