Another impressive win for K-Kids

For Northampton, it was another dominating performance.

The Konkrete Kids jumped out to a 21-0 lead over East Stroudsburg North last Friday after the first quarter, and they sealed the game at halftime with a 56-0 advantage, onward to a 62-6 shellacking.

The Kids registered their third consecutive, dominating performance and firmly established their footing in the East Penn Conference (EPC) North Division, as they appear ready to defend their two-time title.

In three games, the Kids have outscored their opponents, 161-16. The Kids will host Allen Friday night. Northampton’s defense limited East Stroudsburg North to 100 yards of total offense.

Against East Stroudsburg North, Northampton amassed a whopping 355 yards on the ground in 31 carries.

“We were happy with the way we came out and took care of business quickly,” said Kids’ head coach John Toman. “Also, we were happy to get away healthy without any injuries.

“We basically ran the ball with ease as expected, and we also got a lot of players some Friday night experience.”

Running backs Caden Henritzy ran for 107 yards on 10 carries and Billy Stuhldreher had 139 yards on eight carries. Each scored three touchdowns in the rout.

Quarterback Antonino Russo completed two of six passes for 26 yards on a night when passing was a lost art.

Russo sees the situation as a matter of doing their homework.

“I think the team has been playing great,” said Russo. “The way we practice is the way we play Friday nights.

“We must have clean, efficient practices throughout the week to dominate whomever is in front of us Friday night.”

With winless Allen ahead, Toman believes his team can avoid a “trap” game facing a trip to undefeated East Stroudsburg South the following week in a game that will likely decide the EPC North title.

“It is about us,” stressed Toman. “We are stressing to our players to take one day at a time. We need to get better on Monday, then Tuesday, then Wednesday and so on.”
