8 DAYS A WEEK: Your look at Valley Arts
The Machine Performs Pink Floyd,
8 p.m. Sept. 16, Penn’s Peak. Doors open at 7 p.m. The Machine, founded in 1988 by Tahrah Cohen and Joe Pascarell, began as a cover band in the Rockland County, N.Y., area and did not play Pink Floyd music exclusively. In 1989, they were approached by a talent agent to perform Pink Floyd exclusively. The group uses theatrical elements, elaborate stage displays, and is known for recreating entire Pink Floyd albums, accepting requests from fans, and taking an A to Z approach whereby one song is played for every letter of the alphabet. The band is founding member Tahrah Cohen, drums; and longtime band-mates Scott Chasolen, keyboards, vocals, and Ryan Ball, bass, vocals. Pascarell died Jan. 25, 2022.
