North Catasauqua: Historic open house planned for Sept. 18

Historic Catasauqua Preservation Association will hold an open house 1-4 p.m. Sept. 18 at Biery House, 8 Race St., to explore Catasauqua’s history and art.

North Catasauqua Police Department is introducing a new neighborhood watch program to assist in crime prevention.

The first meeting will be 6 p.m. Sept. 26 at borough hall, 1066 Fourth St., and is open to all interested residents.

Officer Brian Douglas, the crime prevention liaison running the program, will discuss matters that are brought to his attention, as well as give information to the community.

The Catty Seniors Plus group will meet Sept. 28 at the Slovak Center Social Club, 1233 Fifth St.

Doors open noon, and the meeting starts 1 p.m.

The speaker will discuss music therapy.

Dessert and coffee will be served, and bingo will be played. If you would prefer, you are welcome to bring your own coffee cup.

Don’t forget to dress up in a Halloween costume at the October meeting. There will be an October luncheon, with sign-ups in September.
