“A Pops Concert” will be held 2:30 p.m. Sept. 25 at Northampton Area High School, 1619 Laubach Ave., where 85 musicians from the Municipal, Marine, Pioneer and Allentown bands will showcase their musical talents, returning to stage after a two-year hiatus during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The concert includes music from Sammy Davis Jr., The Doors, Tina Turner, The Beatles and other legends and “The Grease Musical.”
Revenue from the concert will remain in the Lehigh Valley, benefiting The Arc of Lehigh and Northampton Counties. Since this concert’s inception, more than $250,000 has been contributed to agencies, such as Arc, within Lehigh and Northampton counties. The goal of Festival of Bands is to not only raise program funding, but also to focus awareness on the special services required and provided locally for children and adults with developmental disabilities.
While there is no admission charge for the concert, a freewill offering will be collected, which along with concert profits from advertisers, sponsors, donors and patrons, will touch the lives of more than 1,500 local families each year serviced by The Arc of Lehigh and Northampton Counties.
