Dean A. Spadt, 69, of Northampton, died Sept. 8, 2022, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg. He was the husband of Colleen L. (Beil) for 48 years.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of Edith (Heffelfinger) of Walnutport and the late Allen Spadt.

He was a carpenter for Harold F. Beil, general contractor, for 17 years. He then was a supervisor at SKF USA Inc., a rolling bearings distributor, for 30 years.

He was a member and volunteer at Hope Lutheran Church, Cherryville.

He was involved in local baseball for more than 50 years. He was a volunteer for and taught baseball and basketball to local youth at the Lehigh Township Athletic Association. He was a coach of the Northampton Legion baseball team that won numerous local, state and national levels championships.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by two sons, Brian and Eric and wife Stacy; three grandchildren, Chase, Makenzie and Dylan; a sister-in-law, Tammy A. Beil; three sisters, Denise Moll and husband Roland, Donna Stein and husband Ray and Gina Shaw and husband Eric; nieces; and nephews.

There will be a gathering 9:30 a.m., followed by a funeral service 11 a.m., Sept. 17 at the church, 4131 Lehigh Drive, Cherryville, 18035.

Contributions may be made to the church memorial garden.
