“Broke(n),” Lehigh Valley premiere, 7 p.m. Sept. 10, Civic Theatre of Allentown, Nineteenth Street Theatre, 527 N. 19th St., Allentown. In the documentary film, set in Allentown, 12 persons, including Rosa Nice, above, were interviewed about their finances, experiences with low-wage jobs, student debt, healthcare system and housing. The participants were not pre-screened. The producers knew little about those interviewed other than their age, race and gender. All have worked most of their adult lives. After the 1-hour and 22-minute film, there will be a “Community Conversation” with a panel, including the film’s co-producers Michael Schelp and Alan Younkin. Tickets: https://civictheatre.com

Chris Cagle, 8 p.m. Sept. 9, Penn’s Peak, Jim Thorpe. Doors open at 6 p.m. Cagle, born in De Ridder, La., grew up in Houston, Tex. After moving to Nashville in 1994, Cagle’s first album, “Play It Loud” (2000), included a Top 10 single, “My Love Goes On & On”; Top 5 single, “Laredo,” and No. 1 single, “I Breathe In, I Breathe Out.” His self-titled album, “Chris Cagle” (2003), debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard charts and has two Top 5 hits, “What A Beautiful Day” and “Chicks Dig It.” His albums include “Anywhere but Here” (2005). “My Life’s Been a Country Song” (2008), with “What Kinda Gone” charting at No. 3, and “Back in the Saddle” (2012). The Black Feathers, 7 p.m. Sept. 8, Godfrey Daniels, Bethlehem. The Black Feathers are songwriters Ray Hughes and Sian Chandler, a husband and wife based in Gloucestershire, United Kingdom. They play folk and Americana. Their debut EP, “Strangers We Meet” (2014), garnered airplay on BBC Radio. Their debut album, “Soaked to the Bone” (2016), is to be followed up by a second album, “Angel Dust & Cyanide.” The duo is on a seven-month concert tour. Tickets: Godfrey Daniels, 7 E.
