Dave Yob, a 1971 graduate of Freedom High School, recently won his 100th game as the boys soccer coach at Lehighton High School. With the recent 5-0 win over Catasauqua on Sept. 3, Lehighton is off to a 5-0 start in Yob’s 13th season leading the boys soccer program. Yob, who played for Glenn “Skip” Rodenbach at Freedom, has been at Lehighton since 2010. In that time, he has directed the Lehighton program to two Schuylkill League championships (2014 & 2015) and four-straight District 11 appearances (2013-2016). He has also earned Coach of the Year awards in 2013 (Allentown Morning Call) and 2014 and 2015 from the Schuylkill League. The program which has had varsity status since 1999, has only had three winning seasons, all under Yob’s direction and the team is hoping for a fourth this year.
