Trocki scores in OT

Junior Maddie Trocki scored 41 seconds into the first overtime leading the DeSales University field hockey team past local rival Moravian University, 2-1, in nonconference action on Thursday evening.

The Bulldogs have now won six straight season openers all of which have come vs. the Greyhounds as DSU improves to 10-8 overall vs. its local rival.

Moravian struck first scoring 6:18 into the game to take a 1-0 lead that stood into halftime.

Senior Sarah Peterson got DSU on the board 5:49 into the second half blasting home a shot off a corner insert from Trocki.

Neither team could find the back of the cage over the final 24 minutes as the game headed into overtime.

Moravian took possession first in the OT period but were never able to get over midfield as DSU stole the ball.

Off a steal, senior Tyra Wingle scampered past a defender creating a 2-v-1, slotting a pass to Trocki in the circle where she one timed a shot past the approaching keeper into the cage.
