Townships offer summer camp for Parkland area students

South Whitehall, North Whitehall and Upper Macungie townships partnered to hold Parkland Area Summer Recreation Camp from June 13 through Aug. 5. The program was open to Parkland students ages 6-12.

South Whitehall locations included Orefield Middle School, and Kratzer and Parkway Manor elementary schools.

North Whitehall students were at Ironton Elementary School, and Upper Macungie students were at Veterans Elementary School.

According to South Whitehall Township Parks and Recreation Manager Mike Kukitz, 625 students enrolled in this year’s program.

A Parkland Area Summer Recreation Camp Field Day was held July 29 at Covered Bridge Park.

Competitions between the schools was the highlight of the day.
