LOWHILL TOWNSHIP: Christ’s Church at Lowhill celebrating Rally Day

Christ’s Church at Lowhill, 4695 Lowhill Church Road, New Tripoli, will have its annual Rally Day celebration service 10 a.m. Sept. 11.
After a busy summer, this is a great way to start off the church year in a big way.
Children are encouraged to bring backpacks for a special blessing from Pastor Chris Cocca.
Organist Jason Ruhe will lead the musical team with special music during the service.
Their goal is to fill the pews with family, friends and neighbors.
This homecoming Sunday marks the beginning of the new church school program for the youth as well, which starts at 9 a.m.
New members will also be welcomed into its growing church family.

After worship service, everyone is invited to attend a luncheon in celebration of new members and Rally Day.

Morgenland Union Church, 3120 Weidasville Road, Orefield, is having game night at 3 p.m. on Sept. 11.

Weisenberg Lowhill Township Historical Society, 4585 Werleys Corner Road, New Tripoli, in the old Zimmerman’s Hotel, will sponsor a farmers market and artisan fair 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 17. Rain date is Sept. 18.
There will be more than 20 vendors and artisans, including a bake sale.
The Good Egg food truck will sell breakfast and lunch, and the historical society’s store will be open for shopping.
The buildings will be open with never displayed artifacts throughout the grounds.

Weisenberg Lutheran Church, 7645 Weisenberg Church Road, New Tripoli, will be hosting two community food and fun events in September.
Vince’s Famous Cheesesteaks Food Truck will be at the church 3-8 p.m. Sept. 15.
The church will also be selling pulled pork sandwiches, hot dogs and funnel cakes from 4-7 p.m. Sept. 17.
There will also be a bake sale and ice cream treats available at both events.
Take out will be available.
Participants entering the basket raffle will be notified on Sept. 18.
Proceeds to benefit world hunger.

Weisenberg Volunteer Fire Company is selling hoagies until Sept. 27
Choose between Italian, with onions and peppers, or onion and no peppers or peppers and no onions or no onions or peppers; ham and American cheese; turkey; roast beef or tuna salad.
Pickup is 3-6 p.m. Oct. 6 at the fire station.
Payment is due at pickup.

Ziegels Union Church, 9990 Ziegels Church Road, Breinigsville, will host its Harvest Moon Festival 4-8 p.m. Sept. 10.
This event will include food, games, raffles, live music, crafts, a cake walk and more.
Bring a donation of fresh produce or canned goods to the event and receive a free raffle ticket for the basket raffle.
The more donations, the more tickets received.
All donations of produce and canned goods will go to Lowhill Food Pantry.

Harvest Home services will be held during the Lutheran service at 8:30 a.m. and during the UCC service at 11:05 a.m. on Sept. 11.
Union Sunday School will begin 10 a.m. Sept. 11.
ELCA “God’s Work, Our Hands” volunteers will pack military boxes for those who serve outside of the country 10 a.m. Sept. 11.
Donations needed include snack bars, cheese crackers, candy (no chocolate), Moose Crunch Bars, gum, nuts, trail mix, Ramen noodles, flavoring packets for water, beef jerky, instant Mac and Cheese, peanut butter, toothbrushes and paste, lip balm, lotions, word puzzle books, stationery, and envelopes, etc.
Mission Team’s Shrimp Boil will take place 4-6 p.m. Sept. 18.
Eat in or take out will be available.
Adult menu includes salad, half pound of shrimp, sausage, potato, corn, drink, and dessert
Children’s menu includes quarter pound of shrimp or hot dog, sausage, potato, half a cob of corn, drink, and dessert.
Orders must be placed by Sept. 11.
Payment can be made before or at pickup.
