Buckno Lisicky & Company has announced the first recipient of the company’s foundation scholarship.
Olivia Wood, a graduate of Allentown Central Catholic High School, was awarded a scholarship of $2,500.
Wood, a senior accounting major at Lehigh University, has maintained a 4.0 throughout her college career.
She is president of Beta Alpha Psi, the national accounting honors society; serves as a university tour guide, and participates in a college sorority, Kappa Alpha Theta with philanthropic service for CASA, an organization that provides adult advocates for children in foster care.
Shareholders of Buckno Lisicky & Company have established a scholarship to assist the next generation of accounting professionals and to help develop the future of the accounting profession.
This $2,500 scholarship is available for a rising college senior finance/accounting major who is attending college in Lehigh, Northampton, Berks or Carbon counties.
The firm’s mission of helping people every day has been our core philosophy over the past 50-plus years of practice.
“We are working to continue the legacy of propelling the integrity of the profession in serving clients throughout the Lehigh Valley and beyond for generations to come,” said Marketing Director Karen Hoff. “With this scholarship we are working to financially assist candidates as they study to pursue a career in the accounting industry.”
