Scarecrows in need of adoption in Macungie

Grace Lutheran Church, 28 W. Main St., offers its free community meal as a drive-up option. The next meal will be 4-5:30 p.m. Sept. 9.
Grace Lutheran Church holds a weekly food distribution 2-4 p.m. every Wednesday, Sept. 7, 14, 21 and 28. Signs will be posted with directions for parking and pickup.
The Macungie Farmers Market is open 4-7 p.m. Thursdays on Lumber Street, just off Main Street, Macungie. The market will be open every Thursday through the summer.
The Macungie Town Beautification Committee is looking for Macungie residents who are willing to adopt “homeless” scarecrows to line East and West Main Street in the borough. After they have adorned Main Street, they will be turned over to the purchaser. Adoption papers can be picked up at the Macungie Institute, 510 E. Main St. 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesdays or Thursdays or at Macungie Borough Hall, 21 Locust St. Monday through Friday. For more information on adopting a scarecrow, call 610-966-4951.

The Allentown Area Corvette Club will hold a Fiberglass and Steel Corvette and All GM Show 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 11 at Macungie Memorial Park.
There will be a Cruise Into Fall Craft Fair 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 11 at Macungie Memorial Park.

The Autumn Mineralfest will be held 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 1 at Macungie Memorial Park, rain or shine. There will be dealers and tables of minerals, fossils, gems, geodes, crystals and more. The Friends of the Macungie Institute will host an afternoon of bingo 1 p.m. Oct. 2 in the lower level of Macungie Memorial Hall at Macungie Memorial Park.
