Plans for 5th St. property to be appealed in court

According to council President Peter Paone, a developer bought a former church at that address with the idea to convert it into apartments. A number of residents from the neighborhood approached the borough zoning hearing board to contest the plan.
The developer had to go to the hearing board to obtain exemptions for some zoning requirements in order to put in the apartments. The board granted the application, approving the developer to move forward with plans, so several of the residents are appealing the decision in court.
