Northampton: Uptown Northampton Street Fair set for Saturday
The 33rd annual Uptown Northampton Street Fair will be held 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sept. 10 on Main Street, between 17th and 21st streets. Highlights include live entertainment, displays from merchant and craft vendors, food and drinks, ax throwing, rock climbing, Roxy Theatre tours and more.
Opening ceremonies, featuring Scout Troop 93, will begin 10:50 a.m. on the main stage at 21st and Main streets.
Additional main stage events will include a 3D Dance performance, 11-11:30 a.m.; Chasing Daylight concert, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.; Elite Mixed Martial Arts demonstration, 1-1:30 p.m.; and Scott Marshall Band concert, 1:30-3:30 p.m.
Andrew Lobby performs 2-4 p.m. on the Gin Mill stage, 17th and Main streets.

Reminder: Those who purchased mums during the Northampton Area Historical Society’s sale can pick up their flowers 8-11 a.m. Sept. 10 at the Siegfried Railroad Station, West 21st Street.

Grace United Church of Christ, 902 Lincoln Ave., is holding two food-related fundraisers.
The first is a take-out-only barbecue dinner. The deadline for orders has passed. Pickup is set for 4-6 p.m. Sept. 10.
The second is a hoagie fundraiser. Choose from a variety of subs and sandwiches, including Italian and turkey.
Orders are due by Sept. 14, and pickup will be 2-4 p.m. Sept. 24.

Northampton AARP Chapter 3915 will meet Sept. 14 at Northampton Banquet and Events Center, 1601 Laubach Ave. Doors open 11 a.m.
Attendees are asked to bring baked goods to share with the group.
The speaker will be Gary Schall, with AARP Speaker’s Bureau. He will discuss downsizing and decluttering.
Those interested in becoming members are invited to attend.

Alliance Fire Company will hold its second annual Oktoberfest event Sept. 24 in the social hall, 717 Washington Ave.
Doors open 5 p.m.
Food will be served until 7 p.m. Highlights of the menu include German bratwurst with onions and sauerkraut on a bun, homemade pork schnitzel with jager/hunter gravy, Black Forest oven-baked chicken thighs and legs and homemade German goulash.
Joseph Kroboth Polka Band will take the stage 7-10 p.m.
