Jenny Rose H. Bridges

Jenny Rose H. Bridges, 93, died May 7, 2022, at home. She was the wife of the late Talmadge S. Bridges for 48 years.

Born in Goucher Community, S.C., she was a daughter of John Harrison and Minnie Jane (Gibbs) Henderson.

She was a 1946 graduate of Cowpens High School.

After moving to Catasauqua, she worked for Western Electric/Bell Laboratories and retired after 20 years.

She was a Southern Baptist. She was a former member of Bethlehem and Allentown Baptist churches.

She and her husband formed The Carolina Ramblers for which they played guitars and sang. She was a lifetime member of the American Defenders of Bataan and Corregidor, her husband’s World War II POW group. She was, in 2016, part of the P.O.W./Friendship Program and was invited to Japan for two weeks as a guest of the Japanese government.

She is survived by two daughters, Deborah J. and Mona Denise Woodring with David; a son-in-law, Lee P. Koch Sr.; three grandchildren, Lee P. Koch Jr., Christina J. Monahan and Christopher P. Garner; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and friends.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Janice V. Koch; a son-in-law, Frank Ventresca; and family members, Irene Miller, Ocie Mathis, Horace Henderson, Fletcher Henderson, Ruth Ellen Henderson, Ray Henderson, Pearl McIntyre, Virginia Harmon, Nellie Horne and Gene Henderson; nieces; and nephews.

There will be a visitation 1-2 p.m., followed by a funeral service 2 p.m., Sept. 10 at the funeral home, 234 Walnut St., Catasauqua.
