Donald C. Michaels, 88, formerly of Allentown, died Aug. 25, 2022, at Country Meadows, Bethlehem. He was the husband of the late Joanne L. (Pokrzywa) Michaels. Born in Johnstown, he was the son of the late Robert and Ina (Folmar) Michaels.

He worked as an electrical technician for 30 years at Bell Labs, retiring in 1990.

He was an Army veteran stationed in Germany during the Korean conflict.

He will be remembered for his woodworking and stained glass skills, gardening, as well as his dry sense of humor.

He is survived by sons, Frederick J. and his wife, Julie, of Pottsgrove, Steven E. and his wife, Susan, of Allentown; daughters, Kathleen M. and her husband, Robert Shema, of Irving, Texas, Laura M. and her husband, David Betz, of Nazareth, Ina M. Mavromatis and her husband, Joseph Kurtz, of Macungie; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by brothers and sisters.
