As of Aug. 29, Emmaus High School has added a “Hornet Homeroom” period to all student schedules.
For all five school days, students meet 10:18-10:55 a.m. at an assigned classroom.
On Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, “Hornet Homeroom” functions as a quiet study hall.
On Thursdays, “Hornet Homeroom” hosts team-bonding activities for all students to participate in.
Afternoon Lehigh Career and Technical Institute students dismiss from “Hornet Homeroom” 10:45 a.m.
Habitat for Humanity held its first meeting Aug. 30. However, any interested students who missed this date may stop by Room 513 or contact mrusso@eastpennsd.org. New members are always welcome.
For all EHS parents, open house will take place 6-9 p.m. Sept. 7. Before the open hallways, a presentation will be made on Act 158, regarding Pennsylvania’s graduation requirements.
Picture Day will take place Sept. 7 in the EHS auditorium.
For photo-taking, students will be dismissed from class by last name. Announcements will be made on the PA system to direct students at specific times.
In the late fall, pictures will be available for viewing and ordering at www.christmascitystudio.com.
The library is closed until Sept. 7 and will reopen Sept. 8. Any study hall passes made to the library will be declined before Sept. 8. In addition, library books checked out during summer circulation are due on or before Sept. 9.
Interact Club will host its first meeting 2:30 p.m. Sept. 15 in Room 524.
The club offers a variety of fundraisers, volunteer opportunities and community service projects to new and returning members. Direct any questions to akaunitz@eastpennsd.org or stop by Room 524 with questions.
As an opportunity for discussion and parent suggestions, EHS will periodically hold parent advisory meetings.
The first meeting will take place 6 p.m. Sept. 19 in the library. All parents and guardians are welcome to attend.
East Penn School District’s free lunch policy, which applied to the past two school years, has now ended.
Families who received a direct certification letter over the summer are automatically eligible for free/reduced meals.
Families without a direct certification letter may apply for free/reduced meals by visiting the EHS website.
In lieu of paper forms, parents should complete the Google form for each EHS student in their household.
A separate submission must be made for each student at the high school.
