Volunteer opportunities

Do you have experience in human resources, staffing, interviewing or relationship building? Have excellent communication, networking, interviewing and research skills? Then you are needed! Join the Red Cross Volunteer Recruitment Team. Present the range of volunteer opportunities available in a given area during community events and encourage community members to volunteer. Serve on one of three subcommittees - quality, affordable housing; vibrant economic climate; regional cooperation and community engagement. Slate Belt Rising, a subsidiary of Community Action Lehigh Valley, is a community revitalization initiative serving the boroughs of Bangor, Pen Argyl, Portland and Wind Gap. In the coming months, they will begin implementation for projects in the new six-year community plan. The minimum age to volunteer is 18 or 16 with an adult. The Delaware and Lehigh National Heritage Corridor seeks friendly, enthusiastic volunteers to serve as community outreach volunteers by attending community events such as the Celtic Classic in downtown Bethlehem or Beltzville State Park’s Annual Fall Festival to help communicate the mission of the DLNHC and help spotlight the treasures of the D&L Trail and the Corridor region. Greet visitors and provide available information about the featured artist(s) and the Nazareth Center for the Arts on Saturdays and Sundays for two to four hour shifts. Gallery hours are noon to 4 p.m. Looking for people that can volunteer at least once a month, but would love weekly volunteers. Artists consider bringing your art, craft or instrument with you to practice during your gallery hours. Minimum age to volunteer is 18 or 16 with an adult. Work directly with the clients who depend on the food pantry to help make ends meet and make a difference in their lives. ProJeCt of Easton is in search of passionate volunteers to help serve the food pantry’s clients. Various roles on different days and hours available. Drivers are needed to take seniors or disabled clients grocery shopping and/or to medical appointments. Mileage reimbursement available and excess automobile insurance provided by ShareCare Faith in Action. Must submit to a criminal-background check and attend an orientation training.
