On Aug. 13, the third annual Sagamore Hills Bike Parade, South Whitehall Township, was escorted by Gary Lentz in his ’67 Corvette convertible.
In the car with him was the person responsible for the parade, his daughter-in-law Laura Lentz.
An escort from the South Whitehall Police Department also was part of the parade, led by Officer Eric Norder on his bicycle and Officer Bethany Adams in her police car.
The police were followed by a parade of bicycles, scooters, strollers and skateboards, many specially decorated for the occasion.
Residents in the neighborhood came out in front of their homes and gathered in driveways to cheer on the participants.
Liam Champagnie-Ellington celebrated his 13th birthday that day with a party.
His friends and relatives came out in front of his house to cheer on the parade participants and Liam.
After the parade, Laura Lentz provided frozen Popsicles and bagged snacks as everyone gathered in Martha Nolan Memorial Park to socialize.
The event turned out to be a successful neighborhood venture.
