Afternoon escape! Heidelberg Association for Retired Persons, better known as H.A.R.P., will meet 11 a.m. on Sept. 7 (Wednesday) at Heidelberg Church to take a road trip.

This great group of retirees will take a short ride up the road to tour The Good Farm, Church Road, Germansville.

The Good Farm is the longest running certified organic CSA in the Lehigh Valley. The farm grows 10 acres of vegetables, berries, flowers, and herbs for 200 member families, offering both on-farm pickup and deliveries throughout the Lehigh Valley.

Following the tour, those attending will stop at a local eatery and enjoy a little lunch.

Remember you do not need to be a Heidelberg Church member to attend.

Sit back and relax! Ontelaunee Rod and Gun Club, New Tripoli, invites the public to its all-you-can-eat picnic pig roast noon to 4 p.m. Sept. 10.

This fun, family event will take place rain or shine.

There will be tons of food, including pig on a pit, hamburgers, hot dogs and more.

There will be great music, raffle baskets, door prizes and gun drawings.

Big hearted! According to Heidelberg Church Soup Kitchen Coordinator Linda Hausamann, more than 105 meals were served recently to the hungry and homeless men, women and children at the soup kitchen.

The meal included steak sandwiches, salad, water and dessert.

Special thanks to the faithful Heidelberg Church volunteers who help serve the meal each month.
