Catherine Sterlein, 99, of Fountain Hill, died peacefully Aug. 18, 2022, at Saucon Valley Manor. Born in Hungary, she was a daughter of the late John and Catherine (Obermeier) Sterlein. At age 14, she arrived at Ellis Island and settled in Bethlehem.

She was a sewing machine operator for over 50 years at Sure Fit.

She was a member of Holy Ghost Church and made pierogis and noodles and helped the parish.

She was a volunteer at St. Luke’s Hospital.

She is survived by a niece, Joan McDonough; two nephews, Andrew and Michael Zonay; great-nieces; and great-nephews.

She was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Sterlein Sr.; a sister, Theresa Zonay; and a nephew, Joseph Sterlein Jr.
