Frederick C. Knecht Jr., 80, of Phillipsburg, died August 20, 2022, in St. Luke’s Hospital, Warren Campus, New Jersey. Born in Bethlehem, PA, he was a son of the late Frederick and Viola (Wessner) Knecht. He was the husband Donna (Rising) Knecht for 55 years.
He was a graduate of Liberty H. S. and Bethlehem Business School.
He was in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era.
He was an analyst with AM Best, Oldwick, New Jersey, until he retired. He worked previously at Ingersoll Rand.
He was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Phillipsburg, where he was a church council president, usher, first year Confirmation and Sunday school teacher. He sang in the church choir.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Kyle (girlfriend, Amy Esterly) of Bethlehem; two daughters, Donna Schmidt (husband Charles) of Fairview Park, Ohio and Kimberly Asewicz (husband Leonard) of Caneyville, Kentucky; a sister, Janet Paulus of Kutztown; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a brother, Dean.
