On Sept. 25, the Liberty Bell Museum in the historic Zion’s Church, 622 W. Hamilton St., Allentown, will celebrate its 60th anniversary.
The public celebration will be from 2-4 p.m. in front of Zion’s Reformed UCC and the Liberty Bell Museum.
The celebration marks the diamond jubilee of the Liberty Bell Museum opening its doors to the public.
The day marks the 245th anniversary of the Liberty Bell’s arrival at Zion’s Reformed Church in Allentown for safekeeping from British forces under the command of Sir William Howe.
The life-size papier-mâché bell used in the 1976 re-enactment of the Liberty Bell’s journey, known as the “Liberty Bell Trek,” will be available for the public to view.
The program will feature public speakers and entertainment for all ages.
Dave Fry will make a special musical offering.
Following the program, Liberty Bell Museum leadership invites visitors to visit the museum free of charge.
Parking is available on-street or at the community parking deck at 6th and Walnut streets.
