NORTHAMPTON COUNTY

COUNTY PRISON UPDATE: The Director of Corrections reports that, as of Aug. 15, there are no cases of COVID-19

among inmates at Northampton County Prison (NCP). One staff member is in quarantine after

testing positive for the virus.

Since the start of the pandemic, 462 inmates have tested positive; 462 have finished their

quarantine periods or are no longer at NCP.

There are currently 611 inmates in residence at NCP.

CORONER’S UPDATE: Between Jan. 1 and Aug. 10, the Northampton County Coroner recorded 169 COVID-19 related deaths in Northampton County (149 Residents/20 Non-Residents).

The largest number of deaths, 32, occurred in Bethlehem Township. Palmer Township followed with 15 deaths, Bethlehem, 12, and Easton 11.
