Buddy Guy, Kingfish, 8 p.m. Aug. 19, Penn’s Peak. Doors opened at 6 p.m. George “Buddy” Guy, was born July 30, 1936, in Lettsworth, La. His Chicago blues guitar style influenced Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Keith Richards, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jeff Beck. In the 1960s, Guy played with Muddy Waters as a session guitarist at Chess Records and with blues harp player Junior Wells. Guy has won eight Grammy Awards, the National Medal of Arts, and Kennedy Center Honors. On Sept. 30, Guy is to release his 34th studio album, “The Blues Don’t Lie,” with Mavis Staples, Elvis Costello, James Taylor and Jason Isbell (“Gunsmoke Blues,” the first single). Guy’s “The Blues Is Alive and Well” (2018) with Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. Ana Popovic, 7:30 p.m. Aug. 18, Levitt Pavilion SteelStacks, 645 E. First St., Bethlehem. Ana Popovic, born May 13, 1976, is a blues singer and guitarist from Belgrade, Serbia, who resides in the United States. Popovic’s triple album, “Trilogy” (2016), features Joe Bonamassa, Robert Randolph, Cody Dickinson (North Mississippi Allstars), Bernard Purdie and rapper Al Kapone. Her most recent studio album, “Like It on Top” (2018), was produced by Keb’ Mo’ in Nashville. Celebrating 20 years as an award-winning guitar player, the singer-songwriter has released “Live for Live,” a CD and DVD. The outdoor concert was free. Ted Nugent, Michael Austin, 8 p.m. Aug. 18, Penn’s Peak, Jim Thorpe. Doors opened at 7 p.m. Theodore Anthony Nugent was born Dec. 13, 1948, and raised in Detroit. He’s a singer, songwriter, guitarist and activist. He gained fame as lead guitarist and occasional lead vocalist of The Amboy Dukes, a band formed in 1963 that played psychedelic rock and had a Top 20 hit, “Journey to the Center of the Mind” (1968). Nugent’s biggest hit as a solo artist is “Cat Scratch Fever” (1977). In the late 1980s and early 1990s, he was in the group Damn Yankees.
