Northwestern Lehigh graduate awarded Dunkin’ scholarship

Schnecksville resident Kourtney Keim, a graduate of Northwestern Lehigh High School, was recently a recipient of the?13th annual Dunkin’ Philadelphia Regional?Scholarship?Program.
Keim, was selected from more than 1,350 applicants based on her academic?record, demonstrated leadership, and proven commitment to her school and local community.
Dunkin’ and its franchisees in?the greater?Philadelphia-area awarded Keim with a $5,000?academic scholarship?to pursue a full-time undergraduate degree at an?accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school of her choice.
Keim, a 2022 Dunkin’ Regional Scholarship recipient, was honored at an awards ceremony July 30 at The Liberty View at Independence Visitor Center, Philadelphia.
Dunkin’ and its greater Philadelphia-area franchisees, in partnership with Scholarship America, helps high school seniors and college students in Southeastern Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey, and Kent and New Castle counties in Delaware pursue a part-time or full-time undergraduate degree at the institution of their choice.
Dunkin’ franchisees are celebrating the 13th year by increasing each individual student scholarship award from $2,000 to $5,000 to help ease the financial burden of college.
From more than 1,350 applicants, Dunkin’ and Scholarship America selected 20 students to receive a $5,000 academic scholarship to an accredited two or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school of their choice for fall 2022.
Dunkin’s Philadel- phia Regional Scholarship Program was open to current part-time and full-time undergraduate students and high school seniors.
Dunkin’ awarded a total of $100,000 to the 20 recipients who were selected based on their academic records, demonstrated leadership skills, and overall commitment to their schools and local communities.
To date, the Dunkin’ Philadelphia Regional Scholarship Program has awarded $600,000 in scholarships to 320 outstanding high school seniors and college students.
The program was founded in 2009 by Dunkin’s Philadelphia-area franchisees to ease the financial burden of college for students throughout the region.
“On behalf of my fellow Philadelphia franchisees, we are honored to award these 20 exceptional students with the 2022 Dunkin’ Philadelphia Regional Scholarships,” said Perry Shah, local Dunkin’ franchisee and Philadelphia regional advertising committee chairman.
“We are proud to continue the tradition to further students’ educational goals in our community and, this year, thrilled to offer a larger scholarship award to those recipients!”
Keim was an honor student at Northwestern Lehigh, where she was also a recipient of the Gary Day DRIVE Award and an extremely active member of the community.
She was a member of National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, and National Society of High School Scholars.
Keim was president of the Drama Club, section leader of the varsity Marching Band, member of Concert Band, Chorus, Leo Club, Key Club, A cappella, SAAD Club, Interact Club, as well as being on the swim team.
Outside school, Keim was president of Girl Scouts and elected Girl Scout Service Unit Delegate, where she earned the Girl Scout Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards.
She is also involved in the youth group at her church and serves as the elected representative on her church council.
This fall, Keim will be attending Lehigh University where she plans to major in biology.
