The Bethlehem branch of the Ukrainian National Women's League of America is sponsoring an Aug. 24 flag-raising celebration outside Bethlehem City Hall, beginning at 11 a.m. Home to an ancient culture and bread basket of Central and Eastern Europe, Ukraine has been exploited for centuries by its far larger and more powerful neighbor, Russia.
