Gloria B. Hilbert, 91, of Bethlehem, died Aug. 9, 2022, in St. Luke’s Hospital, Fountain Hill. Born in Bethlehem, she was a daughter of the late Edwin and Helen (Holley) Badel. She was the wife of the late Myrl D. Hilbert for 41 years.
She was a 1949 graduate of Liberty HS. She attended Moravian College, Bethlehem Business College and St. Luke’s School of Nursing.
She was a missionary for the Moravian Church in Nicaragua for several years.
She was member of Edgeboro Moravian Church, Bethlehem, where she was an elder, sacristan and a Sunday School teacher. She led Bible studies and volunteered wherever she was needed.
She was a beekeeper, a Musikfest volunteer for over 30 years and more recently volunteered at the Salvation Army, Bethlehem. She was a member of the Moravian King’s Daughters and served on their board.
She is survived by a stepdaughter, Karen Gehret; three nieces, Sharon Lanman, Jackie Mahan and Jessie Ann Arthers; a nephew, George Simpson; and former foster son, Charles Berger.
She was predeceased by three sisters, Thelma Arthers, Arlene Simpson and Helen Forker; and former foster daughter, Katherine Smith.
