Responding to a reported robbery in the area of North New and Goepp streets around 8:40 p.m. Aug. 9, police made contact with the victim, a 19-year-old mam.
The victim informed police that both men displayed firearms in their waistbands and demanded the victim turn over his sneakers, a wallet, a backpack, and a cellphone. They fled on foot from the area with the victim’s belongings.
During the investigation officers located a video posted on Instagram which depicted the robbery. The video appeared to have been recorded by one of the suspects and posted to his personal account.
Around 4:30 p.m. Aug. 10 both suspects were located in the area of the 900 block of Geissinger Street. One suspect was taken into custody after a short foot chase, and the second was found hiding inside a residence. One of the suspects was observed by police to be wearing the victim’s sneakers. In addition, police located a handgun that they believe was used in the robbery, as well as the victim’s other belongings.
Jadrien Charles Robles, 20, and Cole Rauch, 18, are charged with robbery, simple assault, theft, receiving stolen property, and possessing instruments of crime.
