Several area volunteer fire companies respond to a house fire at 1035 E. Emmaus Ave, 5:30 a.m. Aug. 8. Eastern Salisbury Fire Department and Western Salisbury Volunteer Fire Company firefighters were aided by units from Emmaus, Lower Saucon Township, Fountain Hill and a rapid intervention firefighter rescue team from Alburtis. A resident of the home was treated at the scene by St. Luke's Hospital ambulance personnel for a superficial burn. A Salisbury police patrol officer was at the scene and Salisbury Police Department Sgt. Donald Sabo, the township's fire marshal, was there to investigate the circumstances of the fire.
