Richard “Dick” E. Gaal, 90, of West Catasauqua, died Aug. 2, 2022, at St. Luke’s Hospice House. He was the husband of the late Angella J. Gaal for 63 years.

Born in Fullerton, he was a son of the late Julius and Marion (Guth) Gaal.

He was an Allentown Central Catholic High School graduate.

He was a U.S. Marine and was in the Korean War.

He is survived by a daughter, Sister Katherine M. Bednarcik; two sons, Richard Bednarik and his wife Elaine and Christopher Gaal and his wife Linda; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a son, Daniel Bednarik; and a granddaughter, Lauren Gaal.

There will be a visitation 9 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian burial 10 a.m., Aug. 22 at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church, 618 Fullerton Ave., Whitehall.
