Founded in 2008, Taylor Roasted Coffeehouse, 1924 Main St., Northampton, was percolating along as a growing specialty shop until June of 2021.
Vandals reportedly placed a hose into an outside pipe and turned on the spigot - full force. The water ran all night, and damage in the shop shut down the establishment for more than a year.
The shop did a soft reopening July 18, according to the proprietor, John Weber, who said he expects to fully rebound from the forced closure.
A line formed quickly after opening, which is a normal occurrence, Weber said.
“We will be busy right until closing,” he added.
Barista Jackie Livermon helped with customer requests. The shop offers a robust selection of coffees and baked goods, such as muffins, peanut butter cookies and more.
The shop’s current hours are 7 a.m.-1 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 8 a.m.-noon Saturdays. It is closed Sundays.
Hours will be adjusted as needed.
