Anna Subits Skees, 101, of the Foxdale Community in State College and formerly of Northampton, died July 12, 2022.

Born in Northampton, she was a daughter of Hungarian immigrants, the late Magdalena (Yohn) and Joseph S. Subits.

She was a 1938 Northampton High School graduate.

She worked in the retail, textile and wartime aircraft industries. She then was a secretary/administrative assistant at the Allentown Works of Western Electric and Bell Labs. She retired in 1985.

She is survived by a sister, Mary Schuster with Robert of Northampton; a daughter, Mary Anna Skees with William Hoppa of Bellefonte; a son, James Joseph of Pittsburgh; a grandson, Christopher James Zubak-Skees of Washington, D.C.; a sister-in-law, Betty Relly with Ralph of Philadelphia; nieces; nephews; and cousins.

She was predeceased by a sister, Elizabeth Mulford; a brother, Joseph C. Subits of New Jersey; a brother-in-law, Robert R. Schuster of Northampton; and a daughter-in-law, Tina Zubak with James Skees of Pittsburgh.

There will be services 10 a.m. Sept. 3 at Queenship of Mary Catholic Church, 1324 Newport Ave., Northampton, followed by an urn placement at Our Lady of Hungary Cemetery.

Contributions may be made to the Foxdale Village Training and Tuition Fund (by check) to 500 E. Marylyn Ave., State College, 16801. On memo line, note “in memory of Anna Skees.”
