Andrew Filipovits, 82, of Northampton, died July 31, 2022, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest. He was the husband of the late Geraldine “Gerry” Molchany for 55 years.
Born in Szentpeterfa, Hungary, he was a son of the late Leo and Elizabeth (Kurcz) Filipovits.
He was in the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1965.
He and his late wife owned and operated Andy’s Market, Northampton, from 1971 to 1991. They were caterers at the Northampton Hungarian Hall, where he served as president, until they retired in 2014.
He was a member of Queenship of Mary Church, Northampton, where he sang on the church choir and was a lector.
He is survived by a brother, Leo; two sons, Todd and Kyle; a niece, Beth Filipovits; a sister, Maria Garger of Northampton; a brother, Imre and wife Magdalena of Szentpeterfa, Hungary; and other nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Thomas.
